Principal's Message

Welcome to the 2023-2024 school year! Broadous prides itself in offering a warm and welcoming environment where students feel safe and supported at all times. We are excited to continue our Creative Arts program again this year. All UTK-5th grade students receive classes in dance, music, visual art, and theatre; and students in grades 3-5 have the opportunity to sign-up for orchestra. All children in grades 1-5 will continue with weekly classes in technology through the Computerwise Kids program and stay tuned for more information on our upcoming Garden Ranger Program! We offer after school programs in Engineering, Coding, and Robotics and hope to bring folklorico back through LAs BEST.

We have many resources to offer our students and families, including a full-time social worker, attendance counselor, psychologist, and Healthy Start Coordinator. All children receive daily lessons in Social Emotional Wellness and learn coping strategies to help work through anxiety and stress. We encourage you to call our main office for more information.

Our aim is to make sure as many students as possible reach a 96% attendance rate, or greater. That means missing no more than seven days for the entire year. Please make sure you are sending your children to school every single day and on time, unless they are feeling unwell or have a temperature. As we come out of the pandemic, we must work extra hard to keep all students healthy and learning.

I look forward to working with you, your children, and their teachers, to create a wonderfully positive school year. Feel free to call or email with any questions you might have or if you would like to volunteer! Be sure to keep revisiting our website, https://broadouses.lausd.org/ for important information and updates, and listen out for our Sunday evening calls. We are here to serve you!
